Feng Shui and You
What really is Feng Shui ?

Many of you may have heard this term used in reference to homes and real estate. Many people generally associate Feng Shui with rearranging the position of furniture in your home.
If this is your understanding of Feng Shui, I invite you to take a closer look at this very interesting practice that many people talk about, but few truly understand.

As far back as 20 years ago, when I sold my first multi million dollar home, I had been introduced to this ancient artform by a client of mine while searching for their dream home. I was then, and to this day been intrigued by this concept. Hopefully, with this and future postings the reader will become more familiar with the principles of Feng Shui.

What is Feng Shui

Feng Shui is a concept originated by the ancient Chinese for condtructing reseidences, stores, palaces, government offices and even tombs. It includes garden design, interior decorating and the shpe of buildings among many other things. It even encompasses the fertility and suitability of the ground of its inhabitants.

Feng Shui has been around for over four thousand years. Although recently rediscovered, its perspective comes from a mixture of folklore, artistry, and religious belief. Today it is quite fashionable to use these principles to expel negetivity and promote good fortune whether it be for health, relationships or money.

I have found that much of its teachings are directly influenced from our common sense and based on logical thinking. A basic example would be..You should not decide to erect your future residence on a dry riverbad...Why? I think we all know the answer to that question.

Feng Shui is a system of balance. Literally meaning "Wind" and "Water", is taking the best available knowledge, incorporating both ancient and modern ideas, to create the most suitable conditions for living and working.

My clients use of this some 20 years ago opened my eyes and mind to this very valuable tradition and artform. I have since had clients employ "Masters" of the practice to inspect their homes and make recommedations for a more prosperous and peaceful living environment. Even employed one myself on my own home. If you would like a recommendation, feel free to contact me directly from this site.
